The release of the SONY Playstation marked SONY's first entry as a game console manufacturer. The original Playstation started it's conceptual life as a CD add on for the Super Nintendo system, but when Nintendo abandoned the plans, SONY forged ahead without the Big N. The Playstation started slow and steady, and after a year, it was clear that it was eating the competition's breakfast. The SONY Playstation handily buried it's competitors the Atari Jaguar, SEGA Saturn, and the 3DO REALPlayer. Many believe that SONY is behind bringing gaming into the mainstream, and if this is true, the original Playstation was the platform that did it. What do you think now Nintendo?

Prior to submission to OSG, bear in mind that repairs start at $39. PS1's have become inexpensive to replace, so a repair may not suit your needs best. However, if reliability and saving your electronics from the landfill are a factor you care about, please consider OSG service.
